Our School
Located in the heart of the lakeside community of Old Hickory, DuPont Hadley Middle School was constructed in 1969 on property near the old DuPont High School. The high school gym remains as a functional building on campus and serves as a reminder of the high school that burned.
After a major renovation and construction project was completed in 2005, the school now boasts 35 classrooms (grades 6-8) with wireless capability, two computer labs, a state-of-the-art media center, and laptops assigned to each student, which allows technology to be used in various forms all day.

Dupont Hadley Academics
DuPont Hadley students excel in academics, the arts and athletics while learning to successfully navigate from adolescents to young adults. We are a blended learning school with amazing opportunities for students to explore all areas of interest. As part of our curriculum that focuses on STEM, Literature and Arts, we currently offer four high-school credit and Advanced Placement classes.
We also are proud sponsors of the Encore program for gifted and talented students, and the AVID program, which helps students in the academic middle pursue their dreams of going to college. Additionally, we have partnered with Soles4Souls International, a nonprofit whose headquarters is located just a few miles from our school, to give our students a unique global perspective through volunteer work on site, school-wide shoe drives and a cookie club managed by our exceptional education students.
Teachers and students at DuPont Hadley benefit daily from the involvement of our parents. Our PTO is an extremely active group of parents who are invested in the success of all students. They’re responsible for sponsoring such events as tailgating parties, ice cream socials and dances. We welcome parents to join the PTO, volunteer at our school or even just enjoy lunch with their students in our award-winning food court.
Believing that it takes a village to raise a child, DuPont Hadley adheres to the three-part model for effective education: school, parents and community. The school program facilitator has developed a close and productive working relationship with numerous community and business partners. Both the community and parents have input on the school improvement plan because Together Everyone Achieves More.
